I’m about to settle a recent discussion on “will there be many people at the pool on Christmas Day?”
The hypotheses are:
Yes, it’s going to be full of families
No, who’s that crazy to go swimming on Christmas day
Only crazies will be there, but there are more crazies than you’d think
All my money is on the second one. Will know in 30 minutes!

Silvesterlauf 2010 – 8.6 km
To finish my 2010 racing season (and to have another double race weekend on record, after the Bierathlon/Cüplilauf from the day before), I participated in Zurich’s Silvesterlauf last Sunday. WatchI’m too lazy to write the race report for last Sunday (but it will come!), so here are the last few metres of this year’s Silvesterlauf; I’m wearing all black, gloves and no hat, running on the right part of the street (NOT #5346). I almost tripped, but luckily that can’t be seen, phew!

I recommend swimming laps in the same pool as a bunch of teenage girls doing their synchronised swimming training.
Do they ever have to breathe?
How the hell can you propel yourself forward with one leg permanently in the air?

Bierathlon Cüplilauf 2010 – 2.7 km and a bottle of...
Last Saturday, I quite spontaneously participated in the Bierathlon. It’s the annual “we’re actually not that serious”-event of the triathlon club FreeRadicals, of which I’m not a member, but I know a few people who are. Hegemer Chlauslauf 2010 – 8.8 km
After the very short race last Saturday, another race was waiting for me on Sunday: the Chlauslauf in Winterthur, or Hegi, to be more precise. It was a single time trial with starting times between 10:00 and 15:00.

Note that the time displayed is the gross time, including the ten seconds it took me to get from my starting position to the mat where my net time started.

Basler Stadtlauf 2010 – 5.5 km
On Saturday, I did what you shouldn’t do too often if you’re from Zurich. I went to Basel. Did you know what happens when the dumbest guy from Zurich goes to Basel? Average intelligence is increased in both places.
